I’ll really need it, for this monster packs literally thousands of highest-quality sounds probably from the Triton or other KORG synths in its deceptively small form factor, and has lots of ways an understatement to program and modify sounds yourself. We were expecting to find the two-octave keyboard fiddly when playing some of the more complex ‘Combi’ sounds, as lower octaves trigger drum loops and basses, typically with a pad or lead sound in the higher octaves.
There’s genuinely something here for everyone, with the basses punchy, the sequences warm and bubbly and the leads as searing as you could wish for. These setups can be used to control computer soft synths and applications using the knobs and controllers of the microX.

The sliders have disappeared and you’re faced instead with four grey knobs. For me, a guitar-synth nerd who has not played much keyboards, micrx is the Ultimate synth to have at my side.
