If the various Broadcom work-arounds don’t work, you could always try buying an Intel chip via eBay or what have x630. Sorry to be a traitor to the cause and say that on a kubuntu forum But if someone was grappling with the same problem on a Dell D Latitude laptop, this is the way to go.
