I now attemped to install SP3 again but the install failed. Rebooting after removing sp3 did not fix login problem. Looking more closely I had the 0xC stop code. Now my Windows Installer doesn’t work! I have a HP Pavilion mn Minitower Got it, continue to print. Everything went fine and the old PC runs better than ever.

I couldn’t sleep due to a cold too much coughingso I got up 3vrshpw796 decided to restore my BIOS settings to what they were before reseting them to default during the efforts to get back up. I have the “regular” version and installed it on my second XP installation with no problems.

The System Properties wind. Froze at the process checking portion toward the end of the service pack3 install. However the “disable intelppm” did not work.
I had the SP3 setup hang at the “Creating restore point” step. Using a USB pendrive didnt help. I did a check disk run today. 3crshw796 guys done any benchmarks on SP3? One option is to try the “Last known good” configuration from the “Windows advanced options” menu shown in the post. SP3 should not be rolled out via Auto Updates at the moment. The Operating system should decide to load these drivers at boot based on what chip they are running on, not at original OS install time.
Check your hardware to ensure that you have the correct hardware for this driver before you install it. I’ve yet to hear anything back from ASUS about this, but directed them here for a look see. It happens every time a service pack comes out.

Once I configured the computer to run a disk check at startup it would not even boot into safe mode. I haven’t installed SP3 yet, but it’s good to know I can come back to this page in case I need further help.

See if that works. Note that these were 3crshps796 last drivers for this USB wireless adapter from Anycom. It could just be that the hard drive is bad. MS was very polite and although I had to wait some considerable length of time to be connected to a technician, the wait was worth while.

Check your hardware once it is connect to your laptop to ensure you have the correct hardware for this driver.
